I feel your pain. I have an old iPad that support stopped at iOS 10. Now it works but many apps have stopped working, and most new apps won't install. I just traded my iPhone 7 Plus for a 13 Pro Max. After two weeks, I still miss the Home button. Also, to take advantage of wireless charging, I had to buy a charge and power adapter from Apple ($52), and even the charging cable that came with it is Lightning to USB-C, although an older cable will work.
