iPhone 12 Max Pro volume issue when using MagSafe charger

When I put my iPhone 12 in the Mag-Safe charger, it automatically reduces the volume on the phone to virtually nothing. So I don't hear the phone if I get a call. How do I fix that?

Some volume levels are situation sensitive.

Turn up the volume while it is on charge and see if it remembers the level next time.
