I had my Kindle plugged into my iMac Monterey 12.1, and when I went to click eject, I accidentally chose remove from sidebar. I tried unplugging and re-plugging in the Kindle, and it won't show up. It's not in the finder sidebar preferences either. Is there any way to get it back?

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
You might not have to use that 3rd party app if this works.
You have to check the box in sidebar prefs for whatever it mounts as, hard drive, probably. Whatever category it is will have a – instead of checked. The – means some, but not all are shown.
A quick search on the internet came up with the suggestion of using a different cable (certified for data transfer).
The hard disc shows up there and is checked. I put checks in everything in preferences. A different cable doesn't work. I also tried it with both cables in multiple usb ports.
Thanks for trying to help, but I give up. I found an app called, Send to Kindle which lets me transfer files from the Mac to Kindle, so I hope that helps for anyone with the same problem who finds this thread.
When connected can you drag with the cursor the Kindle to the sidebar?
How would I be able to drag the Kindle anywhere when it doesn't show up in the sidebar in the first place? It doesn't open at all. Is this a serious question? Who wouldn't have thought of just doing that if the Kindle opened at all? To be clear, when plugged in, the Kindle is not visible anywhere on the screen or in any of the settings.
