FAILED! Touch ID disabled after screen replacement

Hello guys,

I read already many topics about touch id but i didn't fix it yet. I have 2 iphone 6 of 16 and 64gb. the 64gb iphone i broke the screen in a corner and also TouchId is scratched but still working so i decided to change the screens between each others but Touch id failed and unable to complet the setup to both of them. If i change again the screens between them everything is working normal. Posibility to broke something is out ! With restore function via iTunes has no result. What i shoult try more at home?

Thank you

Nobody but Apple can reprogram the phone to accept a new screen. For security reasons Touch ID (and Face ID) are disabled after tampering.

Apple will no longer help you as you opened it.

Your Touch ID days are over I'm afraid

Apple has the equipment to do it, although nobody knows exactly what the rules are for how it’s “paired” or “unpaired”. But suffice to say they don’t help with cases where there’s self or aftermarket replacement, even with OEM salvage parts.

If it really bothers you and you’re willing to pay for the service, you might be able see if Apple can replace the entire screen assembly. The most important thing is that the disassembly and reassembly wasn’t botched.

Sorry - I haven't had my coffee this morning yet and missed that you've got two iPhone 6 devices that you tried to swap the screen assembly.. The main issue is that the iPhone 6 may not even be supported for Apple repair service any more. It's no longer listed on Apple's iPhone repair website, for complete replacement, screen assembly replacement, or even batteries. That's not a guarantee that they won't, but it's not a good sign that they still provide iPhone 6 repairs.

Just FYI, there are a bunch of different terms you'll need to fulfill. One is a requirement to disclose any aftermarket parts and/or self or third party service. This is required even for Apple devices where DIY modifications are allowed, such as Macs that have instructions for drive and/or memory upgrades.

https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/terms/repair/generalservice/
1.11.6 Disclosure of Unauthorized Modifications. During the service ordering process, you must notify Apple of any unauthorized modifications, or any repairs or replacements not performed by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”), that have been made to your product. Apple will not be responsible for any damage to the product that occurs during the repair process that is a result of any unauthorized modifications or repairs or replacements not performed by Apple or an AASP. If damage results, Apple will seek your authorization for any additional costs for completing service even if the product is covered by warranty or an AppleCare service plan. If you decline authorization, Apple may return your product unrepaired in the damaged condition without any responsibility.

Yes give it a try but be aware of Apple's terms...

"If service is needed due to failure of parts that are not original to the product or due to damage caused by abuse, misuse or any external cause, Apple reserves the right to return the product to you without servicing it, and may hold you responsible for any indicated diagnostic fee. "

as Kilted Tim and I both warned you.
