Could be new or refurbished. No way of specifying new or refurbished, although some Apple refurbished devices have clear cosmetic wear. Also - if it's an older device that's been out of production for some time, it's more likely to be refurbished, although Apple probably stockpiles repair parts too. They might even be able to assemble from the parts to make what's essentially a new device from older but unused parts.


Still - no way of knowing or specifying other than looking it over.
