There has been a few post regarding 3G network phones that are not going to be able to make and receive calls and that a upgrade to 4G or 5G is needed especially in rural areas. How true is that.

Cellular carriers are shutting down 3g this year.
You would need to contact the cellular carriers themselves for their timeline.
