How do I set up my MacBook Air Mail for my personal Gmail account?

To change Apple ID see the article Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
If you already have a mail address say example1@gmail.com set up with web account it can be added in internet accounts , it will be your personal gmail account , but it will not be an Apple ID ( an apple id is already signed in Mac system preferences ) .
