When will Music be as good as iTunes?

When I moved from Mojave to Catalina I had to abandon iTunes for Music. It's not as good as iTunes in various ways (I'm only talking about the music library parts of it, not in the features it abandoned like iPhone support that had absolutely nothing to do with music library management).

So while I applaud Apple for making Music a more focused app, they still have a ways to go before it's at least as good as iTunes. I'm on version 1.0.6.10 (on OS 10.15.7) and that seems to be the last version available (no updates via App Store that I can see).

Is 1.0.6.10 in fact the newest version of Music? If not, is a newer version only available with Big Sur or Monterey?

In the meantime, there are newer version of Apple Music, however you'll need to install a newer macOS version in order to get those updates:
