Is there a way to lock the AirPods so that if they are found, they won’t be used?

I was able to locate my lost AirPods, but I don’t know if the person who found them will attempt to use them. I already activated my pods as lost. Is there a way for Apple to lock them so that they won’t unpair them?

Verify Your Devices:

Verify that your the AirPods logged in to your account are officially yours, by using this link: Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support. As long as they show it, then that means are associated to your account, and all is fine.
