Screenshot file cannot be deleted

I took a screenshot on September 2021, sent it to a friend through Whatsapp. Now that I don't need it any longer, I've been trying to delete the file, which was automatically placed on the desktop. Strangely, every time I delete the file by clicking on 'move to bin' and 'empty bin', the file will always reappear on the desktop. Did anyone encounter the same problem? Does anyone got ideas to fix it? Thanks a bunch!

I have no idea what might have caused it, but in an attempt to delete that screenshot try restarting your Mac in "Safe Mode": How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

Try dragging it to the Trash while in that mode, and see if it remains deleted. At your option, empty the Trash.

Then, restart your Mac normally.

Hi Lissy_12 and John Galt

This solution didn't work couple of months ago, but the updated OS seems to have enabled the file to be removed in safe mode; I clicked move to bin, emptied the trash, and the screenshot was gone (usually it reappeared in the blink of an eye)

However, that culprit shows up again on my desktop after I exit the safe mode.

Perhaps, is the file associated with any software?
