File in trash to be restored

I put a document file in trash. Now I realize I need it back it was originally on documents I tried dragging it and putting there it there but it won’t go

iMac 24″, macOS 11.6

Try selecting the file in the Trash and choosing

File > put back

Sometimes trash files will restore when you hard shut down the machine by powering off the machine directly from the power button.

If not, you'll need to look at some data recovery tools or a data recovery company.
