Messages on Mac

I do not understand why it is not possible to select/delete multiple messages on Mac when it is possible to do so on iPhone. Can someone guide me on how to do so? Or exlain to me why it is not possible on Mac? Normally by holding the command or shift key you can select multiple items. Not in messages. It is very frustrating.

Message on Mac do not behave the same way as on the iPhone Why is it impossible to select multiple messages and delete them all at once? On the iPhone, not only can I select multiple messages to delete it only takes 1 click to delete them. On the Mac you cannot select multiple messages and deleting any takes 2 clicks - the 2nd click confirms the delete. Totally a pain to do that.

This is a frequently asked question.

In short - on macOS the deletion of multiple messages is not possible. Yes, it is possible on iOS but not macOS.

That is by Apple Design and there is nothing we user can do about it except Request from Apple to develops this feature for macOS

Yes. This is a bug I've already noticed. There are apps that let you manage your iphone backups and edit messages directly.

iBackup Extractor is one such app.
