iMac cannot conduct updates and on some sites receives 502 Bad Gateway errors because it can't verify the certificate. I am on Big Sur. Any suggestions?

I have cleared the cache, restarted the AT&T Modem used for their fiber network. Ran diagnostics on both the Modem and Wireless Network as well as AT&T and Apple support without errors. Any suggestions on how to get this system updated? Any recommendations on correcting the 502 Bad Gateway Error: certificate cannot be verified....

Hi dr.gmr,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. It seems you're unable to connect to multiple website, and are unable to update macOS.

If you are still seeing the 502 error, try to refresh your webpage, restart your internet device, and check your system firewalls: Firewall security in macOS - Apple Support

Additionally, it sounds like you're describing possible malware. Try using a tool like Malwarebytes to check for and remove possible malware:

Mac Antivirus | Malwarebytes Antivirus for Mac | Malwarebytes

Have a great day.
