iCloud Drive storage on iPhone is showing greater usage than I have on iCloud

My iPhone storage (64GB iPhone X) shows 10.78GB of usage by iCloud Drive. However when I view iCloud Drive in Files there are no downloaded docs (checked in folders, checked in recently deleted). My iCloud Drive usage on iCloud is 79.4MB which is as I'd expect.

I'm concerned that the storage being taken up on my iPhone purporting to be iCloud Drive is actually malware, perhaps in the form of hidden files, but can't find anything. Any recommendations please?

Greetings, barcelona_92.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It’s understandable that you’d want to resolve the issue you are having with your iCloud drive storage.

Do you see any files saved locally in the Files app on your iPhone?

“If you're on a device with iOS 11 or later, you can access your files from the Files app.” Access and manage your files in iCloud Drive

Be sure to Restart your iPhone and update your iOS: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this helps! Thanks for being a part of the community.

Sincerely.
