I gave my iphone to local repair shop it was 256 gb and now it is 64 gb is it possible that they changed it or can they acess it

IPhone 10 is no longer capable of 128gb This may sound odd, but something weird happened to me and my mom. Both her and I bought iPhone 10s, both 128 gigabytes. Around 6 months after our purchase, when we looked in the storage, the phones were only capable of holding 64gb total, rather that 128. I don’t see how this makes any sense, since the gigabyte capacity is built into the hardware. Can someone explain to me what I should do?

They either swapped out the logic board with one salvaged from a device with less storage or they did not give you back the same phone.

You'll have to take it up with the shop that you took it to.
