IPhone 10 is no longer capable of 128gb

This may sound odd, but something weird happened to me and my mom. Both her and I bought iPhone 10s, both 128 gigabytes. Around 6 months after our purchase, when we looked in the storage, the phones were only capable of holding 64gb total, rather that 128. I don’t see how this makes any sense, since the gigabyte capacity is built into the hardware. Can someone explain to me what I should do?

Hello,

Are you certain that you bought and paid for 128GB? Check the box or your receipt. It should list the amount of storage on the device. Note: not all of the storage on the phone is available for user data. Some of it is used by iOS and work space.

Then see this to check the actual storage on the phone:

Good luck.
