Channel Faders + Busses Missing - pls help!

After record multiple takes of a track, I went to playback the tracks but something has gone haywire. I'm missing channel and track faders. My bussing routes are gone too. Also missing all plugins. So bizarre.

Screen shot attached. Note the Bass guitar track as an example.

When I'm in Mixer window, and click ALL, I can actually see the busses, but again, nothing is routed there and still missing all faders, plugins, etc. See second Screenshot with red.

Hoping there is an easy fix?

Thank you!

So, as far as I understand it, this is an issue with the summing track stacks. To be more specific, the stack master tracks (i.e. those labeled "BASS" and "GTR Rhythm") somehow got bungled up.

One solution could be to Right(Control)-click on a stack master track (the labels above) and select "Track Header Components" and see what happens (see screenshot). Tick the components which are not selected (if that's possible):

Another, a more radical, solution might be to Right-click on stack master header and select "Flatten stack" (this will unpack the stack as a bunch of separate audio tracks).

Just a quick note: make sure to duplicate the project file and experiment with the copy, and not the original project.

Hey Mike, hope you kept the original project file (before the suggestions). This issue is obviously a result of a bug or a malfunction of some sort. I'd be glad to try to analyze the project file more, but it's very hard to do so just from the screenshots.

Anyway, here's what you can do: 1) Explore the project's Environment (say, the "Mixer" and "All Objects" layers) for any audio routing anomalies (actually getting familiar with the Environment is very useful); 2) Create new Audio tracks, then either reassign the problematic audio tracks to these new tracks, OR just drag and drop the recorded audio from Project library to the new tracks (see screenshot).

I assume that FX plugin chains you had on the tracks could now be lost, unfortunately. However, if you still have a copy of the project file before that glitch happened, it may still be possible to copy paste these plugins into the current one.

I appreciate your additional tips. I ended up rebuilding the file from an older saved version, and pasted in the newer audio tracks which weren't included in the older version. Quite a bit of manual back 'n forth, and will just have to re-do the mix with new plugins and bus assignments.

I'm inclined to think that part of the cause was the high track count and the Track Stacks. I was able to replicate the issue with adding Track Stacks in one version. Still not explainable and quite bizarre but will chalk it up to a corrupted file/session. Thank you again for your suggestions.

Greatly appreciate your reply, JotaGi!

Here's a screenshot of the Main Window below.

I hear no audio whatsoever for the Bass and Drum tracks. I do hear the guitar track (labels GTR Rhy).

So odd that the bussing has apparently disappeared and I can't see any Output destination for those Bass and Drum tracks (which could explain no audible sounds). Where did everything go?

Thank you again!

I tried your two suggestions. All track header components are checked. Next I did select "Flatten Stack" for the Bass, and fader appeared for each track that was exported out of the Track Stack -- but I still do not hear any audio nor can I see any plugins, per first Screenshot. Strangely, the Bass tracks appear to be correctly Outputted to the Stereo Master but can't hear any audio. This is occurring for ALL tracks that are in a summing stack. Only the newest audio tracks (not summed in a Track Stack) are audible on the Stereo master.

Also, I do see the correct Buss assignments when I click on ALL in the Mixer window per screenshot below (yet do not see them in the Tracks view within the Mixer Window); however, still missing all of the plugins and faders -- and cannot hear their audio (which I wouldn't expect to hear since the buss assignments disappeared).

Appreciate any other ideas you have!! Thanks again. -Mike
