Tom Hummert,

Depending on your operating system, iTunes, can be an option for use. If you're using a newer macOS, make sure you're running the latest available macOS. If you have any third party security software or VPN installed, disable it and try syncing.

Be sure your iPhone is connected directly to your computer and not through a hub, or the keyboard. If available, try using a different cable to connect to your computer.

Regards.

Hi Tom Hummert,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand you're unable to sync your iPhone. Make sure you're syncing with computer that's running the latest operating system and the latest iTunes version, if you're using iTunes to sync. Make sure your computer has available storage and that it has been restarted.

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

Regards.

I have tried everything I can think of. ITunes does not exist anymore, Music, Apple TV, Books, etc now all appear to be different entities. I am running the most current systems on my iPhone and laptop. I have restarted, etc all to no avail. I am really just interested in updating my my Books sync to listen to some new purchases. It will go through 3 solid steps, then into the 4th to sync and then about a minute or two later just stop and give me this message.
