My find my won’t let me share my location with my friends when I need it to share.

iPhone XR, iOS 15

Have you checked in Settings > [Your Name] > Find My that:

Share My Location is active (ie. green) and that is says that your location is This Device?
Find My iPhone is on

Over on the Find My app check the Me tab so see if you have allowed Friend Requests.
