I have downloaded a true type font from the internet and when I click on the download button to add it to my font book, it goes through the process like it is adding it, but then it does not show up in my font book. This seems like a very straight forward process. This is my first Mac so I am not familiar with using a font book. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
The button you click should say Install (not download). In Font Book, in the left most column, make sure you select All Fonts.

In Font Book preferences, change the Default Install Location from whatever it is to the other option and try again.
Those are the steps that I followed.
The name of the font is “Nonchalant Script” from The Hungry JPEG, but the issue is not unique to this font. I have not been able able to install any font to the font book.
