Not getting verification texts.

SMS is a carrier-specific feature, please contact them. There is nothing to be enabled on an iPhone for receiving and sending SMSs.

If nothing works get the SIM changed by your carrier.

Hi! I had the same problem with not getting verification texts but as it went on I started to realize that I was not getting any SMS at all. I was getting messages from iMessages, so only other Apple users who were using iMessages were actually able to send me anything that I thought was a text message. To fix it I called Verizon and they walked me through the settings. So what you have to do is you go to settings, Messages, enable iMessages, then under that, Send & Receive, And make sure that only your phone number has a checkmark next to it. Both my email address and my phone number had checkmarks, And for whatever reason that broke my ability to receive SMS on my phone. Maybe you've got some other kind of problem but maybe this will help you.

Reach out to your service provider, they will send a refresh hit to your phone, once hit is sent you will need to restart your device.... problem soled after phone reboots. There is nothing in settings on your iPhone to resolved this issue, it's all network related.

These steps worked for me . Hope this helps.

I was able to solve the problem by following those steps and also deleting all of the old SMS texts in my messages. There were tons of spam texts and after I deleted them all I was able to receive SMS messages again.

Ultimately as SMS is a cellular carrier function, only they can solve it.

This is not a carrier issue. I too have been unable to receive verification texts from certain senders, mainly xfinity. I have T-Mobile and have two lines with them. I mainly use my iPhone, but I also have a galaxy for work related things or when I don’t want to give out my main number. So I changed my mobile number on Xfinity to my galaxy, and bam, I got my verification code. I have a 12 Pro now, but I was still having the same issue on my last iPhone XR which had a different SIM card.

It's a carrier issue, not an iOS issue.

Same issue now on my 12 Pro. I work in telecomm and in response to the answer above, it is not a carrier issue. If it was, androids would not be able to send messages to that iPhone.

It's yet another annoying iOS bug. Unfortunately, an update will most likely be the solution. I'm also not able to log in to my Amazon account.

I have the same problem! I’ve reset phone, reset network settings, I just got the sim card replaced! I can’t get verification text from my bank or medical appointments! What else is there?

Any updates on how to fix the notification/verification by text problem?

This is ridiculous! I have reset my phone and everything that I could find to do, and it isn't working. I also am not getting verification texts.

Apple needs to fix this ASAP! This is quickly becoming more and more of an issue and I’m sick of trying to find workarounds.
