Cannot Sign into Icloud

Running the latest win 10 Pro

Outlook 2016

I have downloaded Icloud for windows but get this error message when I sign in..

You cannot sign into Icloud because there was a problem verifying the identity of this mac. Try restarting.....

I have uninstalled icloud ,restarted ,done everything I can think of.. can anybody help please

Also see the requirements for iCloud for Windows.

iCloud for Windows 11 or later
iTunes 12.7
Outlook 2016 or later
Firefox 45 or later, Google Chrome 54 or later (desktop mode only), Microsoft Edge, or Opera

* Windows 10 May 2019 Update or later is recommended for iCloud for Windows 10 or later."

Do you have any security software enabled? If so, go ahead and disable it and test again.

all you suggested was carried out - this morning the error message disappeared and I was able to sign in to the ICloud and merge my Office 2016 data.
