Cursor Stuck

cursor is frozen and the computer doesn't recognize a usb or bt mouse. Trying to boot in target disk mode to run disk utility can't select the dialogue button or the HD in preferences. Using the keyboard I am able to get to target disk mode but cannot select. I have tried command T to boot from start up this also is not recognized?

Hi there Bookalaka,

We understand your cursor doesn't move on your Mac, whether using a Bluetooth or USB mouse, even in macOS Recovery.

As the issue occurs with both wired and wireless mice, as well as in macOS Recovery, this may indicate a hardware issue with the Mac itself.

Can I mount the drive to run disk utility or is this a hardware issue? As I mentioned I can get to the Target mode screen using the keyboard but do not know how to select the "Dialogue Button" or the HD icon to put in the mode. Are there keyboard controls I need to use? Wanting to know if this is a HD issue or mechanical inside the powerbook.
