Copy contacts from High Sierra TM to a new computer running Monterey.

I want to get my contacts from my High Sierra TM back-up to my fresh install of Monterey on a new MBP M1. I did not use migration assistant as it caused all sorts of issues. I do not have an export of my contacts from HS nor the computer where the TM back-up with HS on it was originally made. Is there a ay to do this?
