Cassette transfer to

I am digitizing some cassette tapes to Garageband from a component deck. Do I have to use the amplifier for output or can I use the output from the tapedeck?

USB recording LP to GarageBand on iMac Do I need a USB to lightning adapter to record to GarageBand on a 2019 iMac? The AT-LP20 USB turntable has a standard USB connector that isn't working on my iMac. Gotta bunch of LP's to transfer to MP3. Thanks! Greg

A bit overkill for a cassette, but you want the line out of the tapedeck.

What are you using for an audio interface?

But the output from the tapedeck is what you want.

Thank you. I am using a U-Phono UFO202 Audiophile USB/Audio Interface with built-in Preamp (for tapes and vinyl records)
