I do not understand why Apple can’t provide everything needed to properly get every device in full working order when it is purchased. I just purchased my first Apple product an iPhone12 and I’m completely dumbfounded that I was forced to go out and buy a cord and plug 🔌 to even begin to learn to use my new device!!! How much presumptuous of Apple to think that everyone has a iPhone cord just laying around
After spending over $75 in wrong cords and plugs and broken hands free device im 2 months in to my purchase I’m finally getting to become aquatinted with my new phone phone. Now instead of an Air tags investment i had to pay for charging cords

iPhone 12 has a lightning port on it.
The lightning connector goes into the phone, the usb c end goes into a usb c charger or port on a computer.
This is the correct power adaptor for the included cable: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MHJ93X/A/20w-usb-c-power-adapter?fnode=139ad0472164b22c8d2a8fb25ef5c2f240a138997bfa3bae2ccc76eab119bf8d0ea6e12e63ca92a2eaa82d6c12494d50cb25e2b3f0cc615177f7198b948d7c35a37949bb23c63be65e2835aacdc961b9b1e1974a95252b384a4323e694be9ee7682d16f6b6851fef1734b502b4dfb612&fs=fh%3D458e%252B45d4
If you have a cable and charger from an older iPhone you can use that.
Every new iPhone comes with a Lightning cable.
It has a Lightning port. The included cable will be a Lightning to USB-C cable. The ports look similar, but Lightning is a little bit narrower and won't have a little circuit board or plastic piece with electrical contacts at the center of the port.
The USB end can be plugged into a USB-C port, or alternatively you could use an adapter like this with a USB-A port.

Or if you'd rather, you could use a USB-A to Lightning cable. There are tons of "Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod" (aka MFi) ones cheap where they have an Apple license.
