Voice Memos ENHANCED edit not applied when exporting file

Hellos!


Selecting the "Enhance Recording" toggle in Voice Memos works well, but when I share the recording, the enhancement is not applied. Is it possible to apply this?


There have been multiple questions on this topic in Communities, where responses direct users to review the "Use the Voice Memos app" page. This information is not listed there, so that page is unhelpful for this question. Specifically, for the "Enhance Recording" option, can this be applied to the shared / exported audio file?

I have tested and duplicated the issue. It seems the feature "Enhance Recording" is not actually enhancing the recording. It is enhancing the playback of the recording and it seems to filter background noise and boost the levels slightly.


The Voice Memos App is a direct port from iOS to macOS via Catalyst. Much like Home and Stocks apps. There have been recent improvements to these apps to make them more macOS like. But there is no doubt that there is more that can be done.


All you can do is provide feedback to Apple and perhaps if enough people do that, they will enhance the software in a future release. Otherwise you may need a 3rd party audio tool to edit the exported recordings to enhance them before you share them with others.
