satechi ssd hub eternal loop on ejecting and reconnecting itself, mac mini

Asking in this forum because it seems to be an mac mini issue.

I have recently bought Satechi hub with SSD enclosure

and WD 2TB SSD m.2 sata

but when I connect the hub to my mac mini (M1, 2020, Monterey 12.2), the ssd keeps on ejecting itself reconnecting itself, basically making it unusable. the usb hubs work fine though.

I've looked at other discussions, and this is likely a power supply issue, but I don't know how can a mac mini can deliver shortage of power (or how can I even add more power?)

+the hub works with no problem when it's connected with my iPad Pro, which I doubt it is a power issue...

Should I be optimistic and wait for the next OS update with bug fixes, or just return the products and get something other instead?

Thank you

Mac mini 2018 or later

How did you format the WD 2T M.2 SATA SSD?

(should be GUID Partition Mac / APFS)

How are you going to use the WD 2T M.2 SATA SSD?

(startup, backup, user storage, other)
