TV app on iPad: Movie could not be downloaded at this time. Done/Retry

I'm trying to download a specific rental movie, Dune, onto my iPad. Every single time, the download gets to 99% or so and then errors out with "Unable to Download Movie" "Dune could not be downloaded at this time." There's no further error.

Hitting Done closes the dialog. Hitting Retry also closes the dialog and does nothing else.

Hitting the download icon restarts the process, but it again fails at 99% or so, every single time.

I've restarted the iPad multiple times. On OS version 15.2.1. No pending app updates. It can download other titles OK. There should be enough storage space (20 gigs). I can download the same title on my Mac. So it's only this specific title on this specific device that doesn't work =/

What's going on? Is there a way to get more detailed logs or such? The error message is supremely unhelpful.
