Music Frequently Plays Way Too Slow

Does anyone know why Apple Music frequently plays way too slowly? I can play music for a while, but then at some point, the songs start playing too slowly which makes them sound much deeper than they should be. I have to restart Apple Music at least four or five times a day and am thinking about switching to Spotify because of it. After restarting, it works, but it's insanely obnoxious.

This only seems to happen when streaming through my paid Apple Music subscription. It happens both at home and at the office, so it's definitely not the internet connection.

I have this problem on two different MacBook Pros running macOS Monterey 12.2. My iPhone and iPad don't seem to be affected by it.

If you create a test user account on one of your MacBook Pros, and test the music issue in the new user account, does the same thing happen: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Do you notice if this begins happening with a particular song?
You mentioned this happens when streaming. Does this ever happen while playing downloaded music?

Thanks for your reply! I am having troubles with Apple Music on both of my MacBook Pros. Here are the answers to your questions:

It happens at random regardless of what song, album or band I'm listening to. My gut feeling is to say that it's more of a time issue if I stream music for longer than a couple of hours.
No, it doesn't happen when playing downloaded music, only when streaming from Apple Music.
I am using the same account on both machines.
The issue has happened since upgrading to macOS Monterey shortly after it was released. I never had the problem with Big Sur or earlier versions of macOS.

Hello melissa_m77,

I created a new test user account with a new Apple ID on one of my MacBook Pros and signed up for the free trial of Apple Music to see if the problem would occur with that account as well. Unfortunately, it did. It took about two hours of playing before the music started slowing down and becoming deeper...
