Closing Apps on the iPhone 12
I have an iPhone 12 but having trouble closing out previously used apps. The swipe and hold method isn’t working on my device. Is there another method I can use?

To access the app switcher another way: settings > accessibility > touch > assistive touch > toggle on. from there, you can look at the various settings below and change the interactions with the buttons so that you can easily access the app switcher.

There is generally no reason to do that unless the app in question is misbehaving. Closing out apps that are in suspended status can slow your phone down and use more battery life if the phone has to completely restart the apps rather than unsuspend them.
