why wont my mac access my hotmail account??

Mac's Mail App is not as modern as iOS's Mail app, Many eMail providers now require a separate App Password different from your eMail password…

Using app passwords with apps that don't support two-step verification (microsoft.com)

I have Monterey and I keep losing the connection as well. No other mail provider has problems and I get the mail on my phone and iPad, but not the MacBook Pro!
