The serial number is so small I can't even read it with magnifying glasses. The power button is broke so I can't turn it on to find ot so how do I get it if I don't have the packaging?

Have you ever backed up the iPad with iTunes? Take a look at this for places to find your serial number. Find the serial number of your Apple product - Apple Support
