Is there any way to get an image that wasn’t able to fully download to download again in imessage? After i restarted my phone a lot of pictures that were downloading (pre restarting my phone) now had question marks and wouldn’t download or have any option to continue downloading after i restarted.

Are you able to tap these images? Does it attempt to download the images if you do? Are you able to find those photos if you look in Photos using these steps? View photos and videos shared with you on iPhone - Apple Support.

I'm having the same issue; I'm not able to click on the images. The person sending the photos is not on an iPhone, but I am.
Edit: the affected pictures *do* appear on iMessages on my Mac, so the problem is just my phone.
