macOS Exchange Password Required issue

Every day or two, I get a notification "Exchange Password Required - Enter your password for "[account]" in Internet Accounts." The problem with this is when I open Internet Accounts, there is no way to enter the password - it just shows the Description and Name - no password.

Even though I don't use Apple's Mail app for email (I use Outlook), having these accounts non-functional prevents me from using other apps - e.g., GoodTask - as they can't update.

The only solution appears to be to delete the account and re-enter it, which solves the issue for about a day.

There is no excuse for this, as this issue has been reported by others over the past several years, and Apple has done nothing to fix it. If anyone has figured out how to fix this, please let me know, as it is limiting the functionality of my MacBook Pro.

For background, this problem existed with Big Sur and continues to exist with Monterey.

When I open Internet Accounts for the Exchange account I see some boxes, make sure the one for mail is checked. Then there is a button for "Details" and when clicking on that, there is a place to enter the password. My employer requires the password to be changed every 90 days and I go through the above menus to do that every 90 days.

It is possible that this problem has something to do with the way the Exchange server (your provider) has set up Exchange, as I have Macs running everything from High Sierra through Monterey that work fine this way with Exchange accounts.
