How to reset the SMC on a 2020 Mac mini?

My keyboard quit working. Tried several other keyboards all the same, missing characters. Attempted SMC reset as per instructions for T2 chip but the M1 SOC doesn't use that I believe.

Shutting down and unplugging the Mac mini for about 30 seconds to a minute will accomplish an SMC like reset. Are you talking about Bluetooth or USB keyboards? Plug a USB keyboard directly into the USB port on the Mac mini. Disconnect any hubs, accessories besides your display. It may ask you to press keys on the keyboard to identify the type of keyboard.

Make sure your M1 Mac mini is fully up to date with macOS Monterey 12.2 as there have been several bluetooth fixes since the M1 was released.
