Shared Folders - Mac Question

Hi,

I have a few iCloud folders that either I share with others or that others share with me. I would like to easily have a view of which files or folders are being shared, but I'm running into multiple issues. Here is what's happening:

  1. On iOS, I can go into my Files app, and under "Locations" I can tap into "Shared" which gives me a holistic view of every file or folder that either I am sharing or that is being shared with me. However, this list seems to only be sortable in terms of most recently accessed files to oldest accessed files.
  2. On MacOS, I can't find a similar view that shows all shared files. Instead, here's what happens:
    • On my Finder's sidebar, in the iCloud section, there is an icon for "Shared". When I go here, I see a small list of shared FILES. Many of these actually have folder icons, even though they are NOT folders. Only when I double-click to open the "folders" do I realize that these are actually single files that open in either Pages or Keynote or Numbers. Once they have been downloaded from iCloud and opened, the icon for these files switches to show them correctly as files instead of folders.
    • But wait! There are other folders (correctly folders) that I have shared or that have been shared with me. For these folders, if I navigate to their appropriate location in my iCloud Drive, I can see that the folder icon depicts that the folder is being shared. But these shared folders do NOT appear in the Finder's "shared" sidebar area.
    • And lastly - for the FILES I referenced above (that are in the sidebar), there is no easy indication (e.g. no icon representation) for me to know that those files are being shared.

This seems like a very messy Mac implementation of something that should be really easy - to figure out which files and folders are shared.

Note that some of my files and folders are shared with others through the Finder and others are shared directly through Pages, Numbers, Keynote, etc. And these two methods seem to be treated differently by MacOS.

Please help me sort this mess out!
