Smaller photo appeared in the upper left corner of that photo

I received some photos via airdrop and was messing around, editing and so on a photo in the app. Suddenly, I think I clicked on something or did something that made a photo appear in the upper left corner of another photo. Not sure whether it was the same photo. It couldn’t have been a screenshot since those appear in the bottom left corner whereafter you have to click onto it.
