This kept happening to me after a recent trip to Hawaii, I tried all the above and it didn’t resolve my issue either.
My issue resolved when I went to my settings scrolled down to phone and turned on my dial assist.
When I turned it on it noted that it automatically detects the country code needed when placing calls.
I’ve tried several FaceTime calls since and it is no longer happening.
Hopefully this is it because that was so annoying. I will update if the problem reoccurs but so far all is good.
Hope this helps.

TO ALL: I finally got a resolution from T-Mobile. They said turn off your imessage and facetime in settings, wait 10 secs and turn it back on
TADA 🎉 It works now‼️

+52 is apparently the dialing code for Mexico. Are you dialing numbers that originate in Mexico?
Someone Just posted an updated resolution that does work. Go to phone settings and turn on dial assist
Hi tcmouse,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you're the number "52" when attempting to FaceTime. We're happy to look into this with you.
We want to get a bit more information to make sure we fully understand what's happening. Would you mind answer the following:
Are you seeing this come up as an error when attempting to FaceTime, or in place of the contact details?
Does this happen with every FaceTime, or only with some contacts?
Are you able to answer incoming FaceTime calls?
Thanks
You've called Apple Support or clicked on the Get Support link at the top right of this page?
Read the thread that you posted your question to. Someone provided a solution. Try it.
I am experiencing the same issue. It does not happen with every single contact, but the Majority of them. I can answer FaceTimes. But just to reiterate, when i go to FaceTime someone, it adds +52 to their number and does not go through.
Of course! I’ve been on the phone with them for hours and with T-Mobile they all say is the Apple problem in by looking at this community a lot of people are having his problem is ridiculous Apple hasn’t fixed it
Same issue for me. FaceTime adds 52 to most of my calls. Very frustrating
This is ridiculous! And no one from the apple support can help :(
I haven't seen a lot of posts. So Apple support told you they were working on it?
Yeah that was last week. See the post above since Feb about this problem :(
