Is there a way to backup messages without the photos contained in the conversation?

Is there a way to backup messages to iCloud without the photos contained in those conversations?

Can you recover messages if you’ve already deleted them and deleted them again from the recently deleted? Can you recover messages if you’ve already deleted them and deleted them again from the recently deleted folder? Also what about photos? Or where would I be able to view them if not?
