I thought I signed up for free trial of Apple Tv. Have signed in twice to cancel it since it would be due to renew but says I have no subscriptions. I see a pending charge and think that is it.

If you already canceled, then you can’t cancel again.
If you never signed up/activated the subscription, then there is nothing to cancel.
If you canceled during a trial period, then the subscription would expire immediately.
If you have multiple Apple ID accounts (not advised) then check for each.
I see a pending charge and think that is it.
Not every pending charge is from Apple. Not every pending charge from Apple is for Apple TV/Apple TV+.
