When I bought,my IPad Pro I did not get WIFI once I left my house. How can I prevent that from happening when I buy a new one?

You can only get wi-fi when in range of a wi-fi network. Once you have left home, you would need to connect to another wi-fi network when you arrived somewhere, like public wi-fi at Starbucks, a library, hotel, etc. Wi-fi is not prevalent all over like cellular data is.
