for some reason whatsapp calls are getting through despite my phone being set to any of the versions of DND mode. Please help with this issue.

If this behavior is only occurring with WhatsApp, you’ll want to reach out to them: Contact WhatsApp They’d be in the best position to assist with conflicts related to their app specifically.
If this is also occurring with other apps, you’ll want to reach out to Apple Support so they can look into this behavior further: Contact Apple Support

Is your iPhone all up to date? Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
How about WhatsApp? How to manually update apps on your Apple device
Also, have you experienced this behavior with multiple contacts?

Yes my phone is updated to iOS 15.3.
Whatsapp is updated too.
This happens with all WhatsApp calls that aren’t part of favourite call list, they come through on sleep mode and I have only favourite contacts that are allowed to call.
