Expand conversations by default

How can I expand my conversations by default? All answers I can find to this question are unfortunately not helpful at all and I'm starting to be really annoyed by it.

Hi NYCgirl_2007,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Seems you are using Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra.

The article below comes from a later version, the earliest I found : Mac OS 10.14 Mojave,

So am hoping it will work ok for you.

Apple Support's article:

"Show all of the emails in a conversation"

In the Mail app

says: on your Mac, do one of the following:

  • For one conversation: Click the message count in the top message.
  • For all conversations: Choose View > Expand All Conversations.
  • If you don’t want to see all of the emails anymore, choose View > Collapse All Conversations.

NB: You may need to highlight a conversation message, for the above option to appear in the "View" menu.

The complete article: https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mail/mail35700/12.0/mac/10.14

All the best :-)
