In that case, you can run the current MacOS 12 Monterey.

I did mean Safari. Nothing shows so if I am current, why do I keep getting messages that say I need to update my browser? I can't get into a lot of web sites like Peacock and Walmart. Is there another browser I should be using that is more current? Thanks for your help.
Odd. Current version of Safari is 15.3 (Safari menu > About Safari). I can log into my Peacock account with no trouble.
You could certainly try Chrome or Firefox. Chrome tends to use a lot of system resources.

From your Terminal.app see if a Safari update is listed, copy and paste:
sudo softwareupdate -l
You can download and install, copy and paste:
sudo softwareupdate -i -a
(note: your psswd will not echo on screen, type it in anyway, use the return/enter key to proceed.)
Hi tut-t-tell,
Safari is bundled with macOS. To update Safari, update to the latest compatible version of macOS (using System Preferences -> Software Update, or the Updates pane in the App Store).
If Safari still can't connect to websites, that version might not be receiving any more updates. In that case, you should use a third-party web browser, such as Firefox.
What version of MacOs are you running, and what is your model of Mac. Both are in Apple menu > About this Mac.
What browser? If you mean Safari, System Preferences > Software Update (if nothing shows, you are current).
My version is 11.1.2 so I don't know why it's not showing any updates. Maybe I will try Chrome. Thanks for your help.
I am running el capitan version 10.11. I have a 2015 macbook pro.
Thank you, I updated to Monterey and that did the trick.
