Saving phone number

Hi. I’ve just bought iPhone 13 and changed network. My new network supplied me with a new SIM card and then portal my old number to it. The new phone won’t save my number and keeps reverting to the original number on the new SIM card so text messages are not been received on my new phone. Can you advise me how to save my number on this phone please
