Open Apple Menu->About This Mac, click Storage to a see a break down of the usage. Click on Manage to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can click the buttons in the Recommendations section for automatic help. Or click the documents section or the "Review Files section" in Recommendations to get a list of files that are taking up the most space.

I was unable to access other storage via directions sent in previous replies. I beleive the directions provided do not apply to my MacOS. My MacOS Catalina.

Upon completion of transferring all data from the old iMac to a new Mac mini can I still use the old iMac to perform work. So I can utilize and still both iMac and Mac mini?
You will need to get a display for the Mini . The Mini does not support connecting to any iMac in Target Display Mode.
I am in the process of transferring my information from old old Mac to my new Mac Mini and taking a lot of time.
How can I speed up the transfer?
Can I connect directly from machine to machine instead going through the network?
Any issues to be aware if interrupting the transfer process?
the step that is showing on the Mac Mini is “Transferring your information, starting up…”
Yes, you can use a direct USB connection or even over ethernet directly with having to go through the network.
If you break the connection, you will need to start it up again, but it may leave a user already created with whatever data its already transferred.
I have a iMAC 21.5 inch late 2013 model and memory capacity is at almost full.
How can I clean up my drive to free up hard drive space on the computer?
How do I search my drive to see where most of the memory space is being taken up by?
My iMAC has 1TB of storage and I am working on increasing my Storage.
Manage is telling I have 485 GB used space in OTHER.
I am unable to access OTHER to clear up storage to increase storage.
How do I clean or optimize up storage in OTHER?
No. The iMac cannot use the Mac mini for anything. The Mac mini is a complete computer it is not an add-on for other computers. It does not improve old computers or make them work like new ones.
Yes. See here: link-> Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support

Yes. The transfer does not affect the old iMac at all. It merely copies data and files to the new one, but the old one remains usable as it has been.

Though be very careful what you delete from there.
