Hi baileyKBLI,

It is possible to erase your Mac without needing admin credentials, but if Find My Mac is enabled, you might need her Apple ID (not admin account) in order to clear Activation Lock. Otherwise, the Mac is bricked.

To erase your Mac, turn off Find My Mac in System Preferences -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> Find My Mac. Then, erase your Mac:

Use macOS Recovery: You can erase your Mac and reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery even if you don't know the admin password. If you're prompted for an admin password, go to the top of the screen, and select Recovery Assistant -> Erase Mac. Otherwise, use Disk Utility to erase your Mac (select the correct article below):

Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac - Apple Support (CA)

Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support (CA)

Hey baileyKBLI,

We see that you want to know if a MacBook can be erased without the login info, and we'd like to help!

Yes, you can completely erase the Mac without the login ID. However, it's possible that it may ask for the Apple ID and password during the factory reset process. This process is shown on the article that you already checked out. If you need help resetting your Apple ID password, take a look at: If you forgot your Apple ID password

There's also a way to reset the Mac login password. Here's the article we recommend you check out: If you forgot your Mac login password

We hope this helps and let us know if you have any additional questions!

Best regards.
