How to solve “Screen Recording failed to save due to: Failed due to asset writer failing to save” in iPad Pro 4th generation

My iPad runs on iPadOS 15.3, and I am facing this issue when I try to save a recording. My recordings are around an hour long. I have also checked my storage and it is not full. I have also kept screen time off. How to fix this issue of “asset writer failing” please help.

Hello VS_Koladiya,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to save screen recordings on your iPad, as you get an error message. Since your iPad is up to date, your next step is to force close your open apps, and restart your iPad and then test your issue again:

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

Cheers!

This happens to me too, on multiple iPads and when the recordings are longer, not sure what’s the threshold yet. Few minutes recordings may be fine. These long recordings used to be stably successful and all these encountered in recent few weeks regardless of OS version or models (old or M1 iPads). Restarting sometimes work on old iPads and fail afterwards, but never work on M1 iPad Pro.
