After erasing all data on my mac and reinstalling OS, how can I verify all my data is wiped before I trade it it?

Just followed Apple instructions on erasing all data and reinstalling OS prior to trading in my mac. Is there a way I can verify all my data is wiped for security?

If you have followed all the eight steps in What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac

and successfully performed the last one (erase the drive and reinstall macOS):

Follow the steps to erase your Mac and reinstall macOS. After macOS installation is complete, your Mac restarts to a setup assistant. To leave the Mac in an out-of-box state, press Command-Q to shut down instead of continuing setup.

Then your Mac is ready to pass to a new owner.
